Johnnie William Richardson

Our beloved Johnnie passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 11, 2011. He was with his wife of 61 years, Norma, and other family members.
Johnnie and Norma started the rock business in 1975 after twenty-five years raising cattle on the ranch. He designed and developed some of the rock equipment sold at the shop and always had many stories and lots of time for customers.
Richardson’s Rock Ranch is a family-owned and operated enterprise providing family recreation. The ranch is a working cattle ranch, suplimented by recreational activities. Highlighting the ranch are the world famous agate beds, featuring thundereggs and ledge agate material. Rocks from all over the world can be found at our rock shop. Our goal is to provide “Fun for Everyone” -- rockhounding, photography, and more.
We are located approximately 11 miles north of Madras, Oregon, just a few miles east of Highway 97. Please see the directions area for more information on how to locate the ranch.
